Crafted in walnut, the chairs feature tall rectilinear backs with turned spindle supports beneath a scalloped crest rail, framed by carved uprights with foliate detailing. The backs are further accented by a carved central scroll motif and a turned horizontal stretcher, giving the set a refined, architectural presence. Each chair is fitted with a woven cane seat set within molded seat rails, and raised on turned legs joined by square stretchers for added stability. The walnut shows a warm, time-softened tone with natural variation that reads beautifully as a cohesive set. The chairs have been fully structurally revised in our workshop to ensure soundness and everyday usability. The wood has been cleaned and finished with a hand-applied wax, enhancing the grain while preserving the original character and patina. The set includes eight chairs of matching design and construction; two chairs are slightly shorter in overall height, a variation consistent with hand-crafted 19th century furniture.A versatile set that works equally well in a traditional interior, a French country setting, or as contrast in a more modern space.
