A great pair of somehow whimsical French faience double salts
Each shaped as a two faced woman in Breton attire, caring a bowl in each hand
Fine polychrome hand painted details and decorations
Made in Desvres in the late 19th century after an original from 1792, hence the date at the bases
Both pieces are alike with slightly different colors, both signed with the FC monogram used by Charles Fourmaintraux & Courquin between 1863-1900 (ref: infofaience site)
Measurements: Approximately 7.5" high x 5.75" wide bowl to bowl x 3.5"
The pair weighs 1 lb. 11 oz.
