Until the first half of the 20th century, sailors used hollow glass balls surrounded by a rope net as floats. This allowed them to mark a spot where they could drop anchor or find their fishing nets, to which the floats were attached. Suitable for a marine, beach or seaside setting. This vintage flot could complete a decor in the Audoux Minet style. See less
