19th century hand painted pine storage box circa 1840.
we are pleased to offer this original painted storage box.
hand painted florals to the lid with initials mjd and an anno date of 1797. likely to have been a gift or celebration of someones birthday/life.
near square in shape the lid opens to reveal an unpainted interior for storage. further painting using a kurbit technique to the front. raised on small bun feet.
very good condition for age, minor surface fading and ready for everyday use.
