This " David Hockney : Poster Art " rare vintage 1995 first edition extra large format collector's hardcover Pop Art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The hardcover book with dust jacket is published by Chronicle Books, San Francisco. This first United States edition is printed in Italy in 1995. It features a monograph survey collection of the poster artworks of the artist David Hockney, with compelling foreword text by author Brian Baggott, book design : Peter Bridgewater.
The hardcover Pop Art book features 38 full page color poster images. The large page prints are suitable for framing. Also included are 13 pages of a color pictorial index of 207 small images of Hockney poster artworks, with details about each.
David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist style artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.
