Dramatic pair of framed etchings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (Italian 1720-1778). The prints depict classical urns in the neoclassical Greco-Roman taste. The engravings are mounted in substantial black lacquered wood frames with a site measurement of 17 inches wide by 22.5 inches high. The first urn is a krater type supported by a Griffin pedestal. The other urn is a bell form decorated with Grecian figures. The urns have egg and dart fluting and gadrooning. The etchings are in very good, well preserved condition as seen in photos. Sold as a pair. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully mounted in heavy frames with minor chips and scuffs to finish. Etching has minor age appropriate wear with fading, toning as seen in photos. Very good, well-preserved condition.
