Impressive Chinese export four panel lacquered coromandel screen featuring hand-carved soapstone beauties in a floral landscape with gilt clouds. Each panel has recessed windows with floral motifs on each bottom panel. Supported by patinated brass clad feet. The reverse side is decorated with colorful birds perched on floral branches in gilt over a black ground. From an estate in Los Angeles, CA.
