Unlike many of the low grade wool, mass produced factory pieces, the vintage Azilal rug is handwoven using craft weaving techniques of the women living in small villages. Creative and fun rugs, their symmetrical compositions reflect urban influences, but differ in style and design from rugs produced in the Plains of Marrakesh and in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Azilal rug is the definition of freedom. Each piece is unique and imperfect, the shape is often uneven because they use only creativity as a rule.
