Elegant in its simplicity, this square lamp with beveled corners is constructed from Calacatta Gold marble and has brass fittings. The design is attributed T. H. Robsjohn-Gibbings for Hansen Lighting Co. Although there are no visable markings to identify the designer and manufacturer, there are other examples of Robsjohn-Gibbings/Hansen lamps that are stamped, which have the same unique rotating celluloid switch on the stem and the three Leviton ceramic socket configurations. It could possibly be marked under the felt that covers the bottom. A turn of the switch adjusts lighting so that one bulb, two bulbs, or all three bulbs can operate. The lamp is solid marble weighing 35.5 pounds! A lamp shade is not included.
The diminsions are 4.5ʺW × 4.5ʺD × 35.75ʺL. It is in excellent vintage condition with some patina to the brass but no chips, flecks, cracks, or detectable damage to the marble. It is in good working order with an extra long cord.
