This reproductive, decorative shield is inspired by historical styles used during high medieval European times. Evoking classical symbolism with brass toned medallion of a female figure, wearing a crested Corinthian style helmet, popular amongst coinage in ancient Greek. The shield takes on a 'heater-shaped' form that narrows to a point at the bottom with gently flared shoulders at the top -- popular during that time period. The shield is likely made of mild-steel with embedded outline on the edges and offering the rusted patina from use over time. The double elastic straps are on reverse side.
Perhaps once used for display, costume reenactment or theatrical us, or novelty it would make a great addition to a Scottish heritage room or Greco Roman, or classic interiors. If you're looking for that unique, modern fantasy style piece I hope you'll make this a "keeper" in your home!
