A Sheraton Revival side table in mahogany. Circa 1920. The table has a circular mahogany top with a crossbanded and inlaid border, centred by a delicate marquetry starburst or fan medallion, likely in satinwood. The top has a gently moulded edge and sits on a tripod base formed by three slender, tapering cabriole legs. Between the legs is a triangular undertier (under-shelf) with matching string inlay, adding both stability and decorative interest. The overall proportions are elegant and light, suggesting it was intended as a lamp table, wine table, or occasional table rather than a dining or side table. Offered in great shape ready for home use right away.
