I love painting faces. This painting is just from my imagination. I love flowers, too and have always wanted to have flowers all around me. In the Renaissance and Medieval times, it was wonderful to have things of beauty around people. Even in our times, people are truly drawn to beauty and the inspiration it gives them. I think flowers are one of the most beautiful things in the world. Flowers have a spirit and a language that is very gentle and kind. This painting reflects my love of beauty in the world and in people and life. In my paintings, I try to create something that will help people and heal their hearts. I think beauty is very healing and gentle.
I have sometimes used cardboard when I couldn't afford canvases. I wasn't sure if that was a good idea, but I later read that Chagall also painted on cardboard when he wasn't able to afford canvases. So, I was quite relieved. This painting is done on canvas. I like the texture of cardboard. It is really fun to work with. It has a slight grittiness that works with the paint very well. It's interesting how certain materials are inspiring to an artist and help them in their creativity.
"The Starry Eyed Girl" is a painting of beauty and gentleness. It is of a girl who loves nature, especially flowers. Her eyes reflect that love of the world of flowers.
