The drawers open with large, decorative drop-handle pulls that add strong visual character. Carved paneling and a scalloped skirt contribute to the classic French appeal of the piece. Old long hinges and key escutcheons remain in place. Cabinet door locks do not function smoothly or consistently and keys are best used as pulls only.
The top shows cracks, scratches, stains, and evidence of dried old wormhole activity. Cracks are also visible in the front panels, with age-related separation along the sides. Note distress seen along back as well. Restored strong and stable, this sideboard is ready to be used and enjoyed.
