For your consideration, an antique neoclassical curule vanity stool crafted in the iconic style of the renowned metalwork artisan Oscar Bach.
Circa 1910s to 1920s.
Neoclassical, Renaissance Revival, and Empire style.
A fixed, hand-forged wrought iron X-base frame supporting a curved, concave metal seat.
Features openwork flanking side handles beautifully cast into the shape of opposing winged griffins (or gryphons).
The "X" profile is heavily inspired by the ancient Roman sella curulis (curule chair), which was historically used as a symbol of power and status for military commanders and magistrates
Dimensions: 19.25" H x 23.5" W x 14" D, Seat 14.5" H.
