Bettina Mauel expresses vitality and sensuality in her abstract and figurative paintings. “I paint what I experience,” she articulates. “This includes landscapes, dancers and people in motion, capturing them at a particular moment in time.” Her artworks often incorporate a sophisticated and vibrant sense of movement.
This original horizontal artwork is 24-inches high by 40-inches wide. Mauel created this one-of-a-kind painting by placing several layers of oil paint on linen canvas with a balanced subtlety. The artwork is stretched and ready to hang. It is signed and dated by the artist on the back. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and worldwide shipping available. Provenance: Artspace Warehouse. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Bettina Mauel was born 1959 in Wuppertal, Germany. She studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Professor Gerhard Richter and lives in Cologne, Germany.
In 1984 she was asked by the city of Wuppertal, Germany to paint scenes of the dance theater of Pina Bausch. This had a major influence on the selection of themes in her imagery. Instead of focusing on spectacular poses, she honed in on the in-between: feelings, thoughts and fears.
Her works are represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles and have been shown in numerous exhibitions and art fairs throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Her artworks has been acquired by many notable museums and public institutions.
