Item Details & Specifics:

The late 17th century and the early 18th century were considered to be the 'Golden Age of the Tile’, the so-called Cycle of the Masters. Mass production was started not just because of a greater internal demand, but also because of very large orders from Brazil. Large one-off orders were replaced by the less expensive use of repetitive tile patterns. Churches, monasteries, palaces and even houses were covered inside and outside with tiles, many with exuberant Baroque elements.

Item condition: Some flaws, chips on some tiles. Age weathered surfaces. Condition is appropriate for age and use. See photos for complete assessment.
