Fabulous 1990 Angel Busca Mortgage Bank architectural artwork, tempera and oil on wood panel/board, one-of-a-kind.
The artwork depicts a classical architectural scene, and its symbolic representation of human existence and transition, likely a cloister of an internal courtyard structure.
Features a symmetrical composition dominated by two large, rounded arches supported by heavy pilasters on the sides and a central, ornate column.
The surfaces of the stone appear weathered and ancient, giving the artwork a sense of timelessness and history.
The majority of the painting consists of neutral tones, a muted, cool palette dominated by various shades of grey, concrete, and weathered green, which are used to depict the stone architecture. The pockets of pale green appear in the background of the arches, providing a cool contrast to the dominant grey. The green is subtle and contributes to the impression of weathered, ancient surfaces.
The artist uses this limited and subdued color scheme to create a specific atmosphere of stillness, solemnity, and antiquity, giving the piece a strong sense of history and permanence.
The painting is housed in an 19th century Empire style or Federal style giltwood frame with a decorative carved floral or rosette motif on the corner, which provides a warm contrast to the cooler tones of the artwork.
Its hand signed by the artist on the lower right front and labeled on the back.
This unique one-of-a-kind painting is a breathtaking piece of collectible art.
