Up for sale is a highly prized and rare Murano glass sculpture vase, attributed to the historic Seguso glassworks, dating back to the 1970s. This piece of high modernism, with its size (over 35 cm tall) and intricate execution, places it at the top of the glass collector's range.
Design and Technique: The work is distinguished by a dynamic, organic form of extraordinary elegance: from a solid base, the body opens upward in a spiral motion (Torchon), terminating in an irregular opening reminiscent of flower petals or a stylized flame. The technique used is hand-blown and hand-crafted "ribbed" glass: the deep ribs of the glass create exceptional plays of light, enhancing the transparency and brilliance of the material. The color is a magnificent Emerald Green/Lake Green, intense and deep, typical of the finest Seguso productions of that decade.
Provenance: Confirming the attribution, a vintage handwritten paper label bearing the code "350" and the wording "Seguso" is preserved on the bottom. This detail certifies its provenance and increases the object's historical value.
Technical Details and Condition:
Manufacturer: Seguso (Murano, Italy).
Period: Vintage (1970s).
Style: Modern / Space Age / Organic Design.
Technique: Torchon glass with twisted ribs.
Color: Transparent Emerald Green.
Dimensions: Maximum width 28 cm - Depth 24 cm - Height 35.5 cm.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The glass is perfect, brilliant, and free of chips, cracks, or hairlines. Slight signs of wear on the base are normal.
Decorating Notes: Thanks to its imposing size and sculptural design, this vase doesn't need flowers to shine. It was created to be displayed as a centerpiece on a glass dining table, a rosewood sideboard, or in a brightly lit niche, where the emerald green can truly shine.
