A very rare and original u.s release poster from the blockbuster on her majesty's secret service. In 1969, eon productions brought to life another thrilling instalment in the james bond series with "on her majesty's secret service." departing from the familiar face of sean connery, the role of bond was taken up by george lazenby, a model with no prior acting experience. Lazenby, however, made it clear that his portrayal of bond would be a one-time affair.
the story revolves around bond's confrontation with the villainous blofeld, played by telly savalas, who threatens to cripple the world's food supply by manipulating a group of brainwashed agents known as the "angels of death." along the way, bond finds love in the arms of contessa teresa di vicenzo, portrayed by diana rigg, culminating in marriage.
directed by peter r. Hunt, in his directorial debut, the film aimed for a more grounded and faithful adaptation of ian fleming's novel. Shot across switzerland, england, and portugal over several months, the film's release didn't match the box office success of its predecessor, "you only live twice," yet it remained among the top-performing films of the year.
initial critical reception was mixed, but over time, "on her majesty's secret service" has earned a strong reputation within the bond franchise, hailed as one of its most faithful adaptations of fleming's work. The artwork, contributed by robert e. Mcginnis and frank mccarthy, adds to the film's enduring legacy. This poster has the production number 70/9. This superb large posters comes with a timeless made to measure custom black frame.
