Exuding the grand luxury of the Gilded Age, this exceptional porcelain saucer was crafted by the master artisans of William Guérin & Co. in Limoges, France, circa 1895–1914. Emerging from the height of the Belle Époque, this piece captures the theatrical elegance and meticulous artistry of classical French design meant for the grandest tables of the turn of the century. Design AestheticThe saucer features a striking, saturated border in a vibrant teal reminiscent of the historic Royal Sèvres "Bleu Céleste." This brilliant ground-color is overlaid with a magnificent, heavily encrusted 22-karat gold band showcasing a deeply textured, running Neo-Classical acanthus leaf scroll. A delicate, hand-applied gold filigree chain frames the pristine white inner well, providing an exquisite contrast of color and light.
The underside is fully marked with an impressive trio of historical stamps:The crisp green underglaze factory mark ("LIMOGES / FRANCE") confirming its authentic French origin. The rare, iconic reddish-orange circular overglaze decorator stamp ("W. GUERIN & Co / LIMOGES").A fascinating, hand-impressed incised heart symbol molded directly into the raw clay prior to firing—a unique internal craftsman's mark used to track the mold artisan's handiwork. I know I would love to shine this bright if I was 120 years old!

Age appropriate surface wear. No structural flaws. This heirloom piece remains structurally pristine with no chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs! The heavy 22Kgold scrollwork retains its brilliant luster. Shows surface wear to the delicate inner gold rings & outer rim. Inner scrolling work is heavily faded & consistent with its 120+ year age.
