Striking early 20th-century French cast iron figural ashtray featuring a finely modeled Alpine ibex (chamois) atop an organically shaped tray. Sculptural and expressive, this piece reflects the Art Nouveau era’s reverence for nature and showcases strong industrial craftsmanship with hand-finished detail.
The underside bears an impressed rising sun (demi-soleil) foundry mark and period mold number, consistent with circa 1900–1915 French industrial art casting, likely from the Alpine region near the Swiss border.
Richly aged patina throughout. Works beautifully as a decorative object, desk accessory, or sculptural accent.
