Triangle III: Law of Three Series Giclee Print.
(Right Hand Side of Half of the Trinty Tapestry - or as woven titled Triangle V in The Law of Three Tapestry Series). It can be hung in this vertical direction or hung horizontally which then has the signiture in the bottom right corner.
This series depicts the Law of Three as spoken of in G.I. Gurdjieff's book All and Everything. Gurdjieff Work is a spiritual practice often referred to as the 4th way. Myra Reichel has studied Gurdjieff's teachings as a member of Mr. Nyland's Gurdjieff Group since 1970.
This a digital Giclee' Print that the photographer/printer at Studio FX in Lancaster, PA, hand corrected digitally loose threads that popped out and added a digital shadow underneath the image in the print to increase the 3-D effect and took the Trinity tapestry and cut the image in half and digitally added a fake selvage edge to left side of the print of the weaving. It took 2.5 hours to scan the 10-foot-wide trinity tapestry into his early digital camera and 2 hours to print each of the prints.
This image drawn by Myra Reichel and then hand woven and then photographed by an early digital camera and digitally printed out is available in 2 different sizes this is the large print size matted - there are 2 prints in this large size one with a while mat slightely smaller matted and one with a gray matt that is lightly larger they are being sold seperatley and I advise picking up if possible otherwise I advise having the actual print sent rolled up in a box without the matt or the shipping will be more expensive. There were supposed to be 100 prints of this print so the pieces are numbered 1 out of 100 or 2 out of a hundred but actuallly only 2 of 2 prints were made at this size. I realized after printing the 2 origional prints in this size and a small number in a smaller size that the art galleries in my area would not handle prints that were not hand pulled, in addition, it turned out that hand pulled prints were less expensive than these new digital media prints that used very expensive equipment. These days digital art is a different story with digital equipment and the versitality of what an artist can do with the the medium has opened up new opportunities.
I stopped at 2 prints each of this larger size of the 2 different images and I have not had any contact with studio FX in years, so even with the prints in the smaller size manyve a dozen printed and the few prints of the Trinity tapestry as a whole are very rare.
There are 2 matted prints in this size with 2 different matts one is larger and grey than the other with a slightly smaller white matt. The other half of the Trinity weaving is also available as a giclee print 1 matted and 1 matted and framed in the larger size. The size of the larger print area is listed as the area of image in the print inside the matte which excxeeds the measurements to go UPS when the matte increases the size to 50 x 48 x1/8 inch. The print could be taken out of the matte and rooled up and put into a mailing tube and mailed for less than if flat and matted. This can be discussed.
In the smaller size there are several smaller versions of the print unmatted or matted in various colored mats, and a few matted and framed.
The title is different for the prints Triangle II for the left side and Triangle shown here the right side of the Trinity tapestry. As tapestries Triangle II print is titled Triangle IV tapestry and Triangle III print is Triangle V tapestry. Even though only 2 prints this size were printed in the size it says 1 in 100 so there is another signed statement on back of print matt or back of framed piece saying what the true number of prints actually is.
The size listed is the area of image in the print inside the matte which excxeeds the measurements to go UPS when the mattd which is 50 x 48 x1/8 inch ish or I have another smaller version that is also beyond UPS shipping limits or will need special shipping by frieght when matted or famed. The print could be taken out of the matte and rooled up and put into a mailing tube and mailed for less than if flat and matted. This can be discussed.
