An elegant late 19th-century French Louis XVI style bergere a oreilles (wingback armchair) featuring a beautifully weathered pale celadon or "grey-trianon" painted finish. Made of hand carved beechwood, this stately piece is defined by its tall, flared back and deep, comfortable proportions.
The frame is expertly carved with classic Neoclassical motifs, including a continuous guilloche pattern along the rails and back, accented by floral rosettes at the die joints. The chair is supported by four tapered, fluted legs ending in traditional toupie feet.
