Crafted from solid oak, the desk features a hinged glass top that opens to reveal the original interior workspace. The glass is a later replacement and allows for display of books, documents, or small collections while preserving the historic writing surface beneath.

Four small drawers—often referred to as spool drawers—retain their original white porcelain knobs and display visible hand-cut dovetail joinery. An ink well opening and pen groove remain intact, while interior ink staining and wear speak to decades of authentic use.
