The elongated forms, rich dark patina, and expressive surface texture give the sculpture strong architectural presence and a distinctly modern, organic feel.

Natural surface checking and age-related cracking are visible throughout, consistent with authentic single-log wood carvings and integral to the piece’s wabi-sabi character. These features highlight the material and craftsmanship and do not affect the sculpture’s stability or display.

According to the prior owner, this sculpture was brought back from Africa approximately 30 years ago by a close friend following travel there, and has been privately held since. See less
