Original signed etching by Joseph Pennell (1857–1926), dated 1883, depicting the Piazza del Comune in Pistoia, Italy. Joseph Pennell was a prominent American etcher, illustrator, and printmaker whose work played a significant role in late 19th- and early 20th-century printmaking. His etchings are held in major institutional collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, and the Library of Congress.
