The lamp is composed around an elegant giltwood baluster-form base, finely carved with scrolling foliage and architectural contours, retaining a warm, time-softened gilded surface.

Rising from the base, a branching gilt bronze armature unfolds in a lyrical, botanical composition, adorned with delicately modeled leaves and blossoms. The three candle-form lights are surmounted by oval classical relief plaques, each depicting standing mythological figures rendered in low relief, recalling antique cameos and neoclassical medallions. The plaques introduce a scholarly, Grand Tour sensibility, balancing ornament with restraint.



The piece has been professionally converted to electricity, preserving the integrity of the original form while allowing for functional use. The combination of sculptural presence, classical iconography, and soft gilded patina gives the lamp a distinctly architectural and decorative character, equally suited to a console, library table, or layered vignette.

A rare and highly decorative example of 19th-century neoclassical design, bridging the worlds of sculpture, decorative arts, and lighting.

Condition:
