Excellent viennese ceramic figurine from the late 1920s: young, graceful dancer in an unconventional, expressive costume, sleeveless one-piece with a … Read more Excellent viennese ceramic figurine from the late 1920s: young, graceful dancer in an unconventional, expressive costume, sleeveless one-piece with a trouser skirt section tapering downwards and at the sides in light yellow and green with abstract floral decoration, posing, the high reddish-purple collar surrounding her head, which is turned to the left, with a matching bonnet like a pearl, two long strips of fabric in shades of red and purple emerge from the underdress and lie on the floor, framing and emphasising the dancer's slender legs, her left hand with a disc-shaped purple cuff and bent elbow stretched straight forward, her right hand pointing backward behind her back at the same height. On a dark green, slightly curved oval base. Designed by stephan dakon (1904 - 1992), one of the most important designers who worked for the goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-fifties. The model was designed and made circa 1928.
