This is a fabulous vintage dining set comprising a regency revival dining table and a set of eight shield back … Read more This is a fabulous vintage dining set comprising a regency revival dining table and a set of eight shield back dining chairs by the master cabinet maker william tillman, circa 1980 in date. The table is made of stunning solid flame mahogany and is raised on a a pair of "gun barrel" turned columns on quadruple swept sabre leg bases which are fitted with brass toes and castors. The table has two leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion. This makes it a versatile dining table which can comfortably seat twelve people. The superb vintage set of eight shield back dining chairs compliment the table perfectly. Beautifully hand crafted from solid mahogany the set comprises two armchairs and six side chairs all featuring an attractive shield back design with seats that have been upholstered in their original green velvet fabric. This dining set was purchased at great expense from the master cabinet maker william tillman, crouch lane, borough green kent in the 1980s. It is rare to find such a fabulous and comfortable high quality dining set.

the botanical name for the mahogany this item is made of is swietenia macrophylla and this type of mahogany is not subject to cites regulation.

condition: in excellent condition the table having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed and the chairs polished and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
