We are selling this great looking French Victorian repousse waste basket or coal scuttle. This form is usually seen as a coal scuttle but it appears this one may have been converted for use as an ash bucket or waste basket. The piece has repousse worked brass exterior and metal insert. This example has added feet and no spout. Probably mid 19th century France.
Condition: Good general antique condition. Signs of wear. Small tear in the mouth of the metal. It appears one foot may be replaced or repaired. Has different caps on each end of where the handle meets the body.
