Vintage Mount Airy Mid-Century Modern Credenza – Two-Tone Walnut Finish, Lightly Restored
This elegant mid-century modern credenza was crafted by the Mount Airy Furniture Company of Mount Airy, North Carolina, a respected American manufacturer known for its high-quality case goods and refined modernist designs. Produced in the 1960s–1970s, the piece reflects the brand's signature blend of Danish-influenced lines and solid American construction.
At an impressive 81" wide, the credenza features six sculptural paneled doors in a warm two-tone finish—lighter wood panels framed by darker walnut or pecan veneer—and stands on rounded legs for a classic MCM silhouette. The interior offers generous storage, including a felt-lined drawer with a built-in knife block, indicating its original use as a buffet or dining sideboard. The authentic Mount Airy maker's mark is stamped inside the drawer.
The piece has undergone light restoration, including cleaning, conditioning, and touch-ups to enhance the wood's natural warmth while preserving its vintage character. Minor age-appropriate wear remains, but the credenza presents beautifully and is structurally sound.
Note: Acrylic topper shown in some photos is not included.
