This charming vintage French folk art jewelry box is whimsically modeled as a petite Parisian sweet shop, complete with a scalloped blue roof, striped awnings, and hand-illustrated storefront details. Inscribed “La folie Marquise” and “Bonbons,” the exterior evokes mid-century French confectionery and naïve folk illustration, making it as decorative as it is functional.
The interior is lined in red velvet with divided compartments for jewelry or small keepsakes. A built-in mechanical music box is concealed beneath one section, winding smoothly and playing when engaged an enchanting detail that elevates this piece beyond a standard trinket box.
