Although made of plaster (or stucco), the craftsmanship and finish lend the object the nobility of an antique wooden sculpture.

Subject and Style: The work is a triumph of Baroque/Rococo taste, conceived as an architectural element in the form of a stylized Ionic capital. At the center of the composition, the plump and expressive face of a winged Putto (or Cherub) emerges in high relief. A fascinating and rare detail is the polychrome painting of the eyes, a deep blue, which lends vivacity to the gaze. The figure is framed by a rich cascade of fruit (pomegranates, apples) and acanthus leaves, symbols of abundance and prosperity, carved with remarkable depth.

Finish: The entire surface is finished with a warm, antiqued gilding, which enhances the sculpture's volumes and creates magnificent plays of light. The large, flat top surface is ideal for holding objects, while the back reveals the textured nature of the raw plaster, with hooks or fittings for hanging.
