Elegant Georgian-period English tea caddy in rectangular form, fitted with an original brass bail handle. The caddy opens to reveal two tea compartments (only one retains the lid) and a central well that once housed a mixing bowl.

- The exterior of the box shows signs of wear from age and use (shrinkage cracks in wood, some sun fading, … moreThe exterior of the box shows signs of wear from age and use (shrinkage cracks in wood, some sun fading, missing bit of banding along front left top edge of box (see last photo), escutcheon (a flat piece of metal for protection and often ornamentation, around a keyhole) is missing, key is missing. The lid opens and closes as it should although it does not lock with the key missing. The handle is firm and attached. The hinges along the backside are in good working order. The felt on the bottom is quite worn and there are wood shrinkage cracks underneath. The interior is missing one lid to one of the 2 tea compartments, the mixing bowl is missing, original red lining shows staining and wear.
