An extraordinary example of WWI Trench Art, this 1917-dated 75mm brass artillery shell has been painstakingly hand-transformed into a stunning decorative vase. The piece features a highly detailed, high-relief dragon motif that wraps around the cylindrical body, set against a meticulously stippled background for a beautiful textural contrast.
The base is clearly stamped "75mm GUN" and dated 1917, marking it as a relic from the height of the Great War. This piece represents the incredible skill and patience of soldiers or artisans who repurposed wartime materials into lasting works of folk art. It boasts a warm, aged brass patina and is in excellent vintage condition with minor signs of wear consistent with its 100+ year history.
