Uncommon pair of Herman Miller soft pad arm chairs with four star swivel base. The Soft Pad designs debuted in 1969, a decade after the release of the original Aluminum Group, adding a padded seat and back to one of the most iconic mid century modern designs.
This particular set was produced in the late 1970s. Both chairs have the Herman Miller imprint in the aluminum frame. One chair has a wide Herman Miller logo sticker.
The leather is original and has aged beautifully. The back cushions are original while the seat cushions have been replaced for comfort. The swivel bases function properly on both chairs. The bases show light surface-level wear, while the arms show their age more significantly.
Overall in very good original condition with noticeable signs of age. Free from structural imperfections. A small tear at the top corner of one chair is depicted in the photo set. It is stable and did not expand in the six months we used this in our office.
