• A rounded, wide-mouth bowl with a thick rolled rim
• Decorated in cobalt underglaze on a milky white porcelain body
• Hand-painted scrolling florals and foliate vines (peony/lotus-style)
• A repeating ruyi-style border just under the rim
• No foot ring — instead a flat glazed base

The decoration style is what collectors call Chinese export “qinghua” (blue & white) — a design tradition going back to the Ming dynasty, but this particular example is not antique Ming.

Based on a few clear indicators:

1. The glaze
• Very glossy, glassy, evenly fired
• Slight pooling at the rim
• Speckling and kiln debris on the base

2. The base
• Fully glazed base (older 18th–early 19th c. pieces usually have an unglazed foot ring)
• No reign mark
• Tiny iron specks (“kiln freckles”) common in later export production

3. The painting
• Fluid but fast brushwork
• Decorative rather than court-quality
• Border patterns simplified

➡️ This places it most likely late Qing Dynasty to early Republic period — roughly 1880–1920 (possibly made for export markets in Europe or the U.S.).

So — not museum antique, but genuinely old and decorative, which is actually ideal for repurposing in high-end decorative arts.

A jardinière / fishbowl planter:
People would have planted:
• orchids
• bonsai
• narcissus bulbs (very common in Chinese households)
