This sculptural lamp showcases the graceful, elongated lines and refined proportions characteristic of the Borzoi breed, making it especially appealing to collectors of canine art and vintage European ceramics.

Likely produced in Italy or continental Europe during the 1940s–1950s, the lamp is hand-painted in warm ivory, burgundy, and sable tones. The Borzoi are well modeled with expressive faces and flowing forms, giving the piece strong visual presence whether illuminated or displayed as a decorative sculpture.

The lamp is fully functional and lights properly, with the bulb housed discreetly at the rear of the sculpture so as not to detract from the figurative design. A distinctive and highly decorative vintage lighting piece suited for a console, side table, or collector’s interior.

The lamp retains its original Roman Art Co, Inc. "Rubia Ware" label from St. Louis, Missouri, a mid-century American importer known for European Figural ceramics.
