Antique Berber unglazed clay storage jar from Morocco, dating from the early 20th century, with a softly rounded form and a naturally aged surface marked by time and use.
Hand-formed from natural clay and fired in a traditional wood kiln, this jar was originally used for storing dates, grains, and spices in rural households. Its matte, unglazed finish and subtle variations in tone reflect both the firing process and decades of patina developed through daily use.
Produced in the Draa Valley region, this jar embodies the Berber pottery tradition known for its durable forms, restrained decoration, and functional elegance. Each irregularity in the surface is a trace of its making and long history of use.
Size is 25.6” x 25.6” x 33.1” (65 cm x 65 cm x 84 cm). Material is natural unglazed clay. Condition is antique, with wear consistent with age and use. Made in Morocco. One of a kind.

Surface wear, patina, and natural irregularities in the clay are present and are considered part of the piece’s authenticity and character. These interior traces are typical of authentic utilitarian pottery of this age and origin. The piece has not been restored or altered and is presented in its original condition.
