The brown arch topped field displays a crane confronting a dragon head emerging from a flower clump at the base of this antique oriental rug. Cloud wisps fill the background. A textile repeat pattern covers the spandrels. The pattern appears on several scatters and it is an interpretation of the ancient combat of the Simurgh or eagle with a serpent.
