An antique Persian Kurdish Bidjar throw rug. Since all Bidjars are woven by Kurds, how do we identify this particular type? This is a village home workshop production, smaller in size, coarse in weave and with a more geometric and less complex pattern. On the dark slate field, a floriated boteh pattern is set out. The allover, even wear does not preclude another century of active use for this rustic west Persian scatter.
