This early 20th-century Persian Heriz long runner presents a richly detailed geometric-floral composition across a deep navy field. A sequence of large diamond-shaped and floral devices runs along the central axis, alternating with stylized palmettes, rosettes, and compact tribal motifs. Accents of turquoise, rust, ivory, soft red, brown, and muted blue create strong contrast while preserving the rug’s balanced and cohesive palette. Smaller blossoms and geometric ornaments fill the surrounding spaces, adding rhythm and visual density throughout the elongated format. Multiple narrow borders frame the composition with repeating floral, star-like, and angular motifs, reinforcing the runner’s structured character. Characteristic of Heriz weaving, the piece combines bold geometry, expressive color, and village-inspired ornament in a highly decorative design. Its exceptional length makes it especially suitable for hallways, galleries, long passages, or other narrow architectural spaces.
