This is a charming small early 20th Century painting on board in a period (likely original) frame, signed in the bottom right: F. Mighell. The sticker on the back indicates it was purchased from Cundy Gift and Art in Poughkeepsie, NY, dating it to early 1900s. The subject matter is a lovely little crop of birch trees alongside a river set between some hills. It takes on a graphic nature in the style of painting, and even the simplistic style is reminiscent of folk art.
The frame features a charming period style detail around the rim.
Overall it is in fantastic condition! It seems that there is some yellowing to a sealer over the top in some spots, and some crackling to the paint, commensurate with its age.
