A devoted saint, a Carmelite nun.
Saint Thérèse of Lisieux (1873-1897) is a French saint known for her devotion to the Christian faith despite her young age and the illness that afflicted her throughout her life.
Entering the Carmel of Lisieux at only 15 years old, she lived a life relatively unknown to most. It was shortly after her death that she performed miracles and contributed to her legend; believers who visited her were cured of tuberculosis, and a blind girl regained her sight.
Praised for healing serious or incurable ailments and financial worries, she remains a very popular 19th-century French saint and still has many followers.
