Born in Guatemala, Sarg was a multi-disciplined artist who animated films; designed Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade balloons; illustrated children's books and magazine covers; a puppeteer; as well as designing interiors for high-end department stores and restaurants, including the supper club at the Waldorf Astoria. Additionally, he was hired to create artwork for the 1939 New York World's Fair, including but not limited to: the official pictoral map, textiles, and a sundry of other items, all sold through Lord & Taylor. The big "W" asserts his Years Active from 1915 through 1935… a huge body of work in just a mere two decades.

A very eclectic—and accomplished—artist, indeed.

Our box is not perfect, and does show wear. It's functionality is intact, sitting flat, as well as the lid inserting smoothly onto the box base. There are scratches, some fading of color, as well as a few tears/rips of the paper. See less
