With its tall feet and narrow frame, this graceful Neoclassical chest has swirling-grained mahogany in its drawer faces and a case made of cherry. This combination of wood use along with white pine secondary woods point to a New England origin. Designed according to the Neoclassical style of the early 1800s, the hand-cut dovetails and cut nails in the back affirm it is a period piece and not a later reproduction.
The relatively petite size of this chest adds to its appeal and versatility. We hope its character and charm will brighten wherever it finds a new home!
