They are well known for its habit of using its wings to form a canopy when fishing. Frederick Cooper (Chicago) beautifully caught this in his brass birds as their wings are fully open. Each stands on a round wooden base. Each is about 12" high. The wing spans differ, one being around 9" across, the other 10" across. Their lengths are 10 1/2 and 11 1/2. See less
