This is an exceptionally rare and unique piece. An antique, multilayered, storage container once used by street vendors to store Baozi/Bao, the filled Buns typically consumed in large parts of China. Despite its once utilitarian function its multilayered stacked design and curved legs are subtle yet elegant. The wood has aged beautifully with a predominantly burgundy and brown hue. It once once heavily coated in lacquer however this has slowly faded over the decades and adds to its charm.
A very special piece certain to invoke conversation. This Bao container would make for a unique and elegant round table or storage container.
