The subject of these paintings are referred to as "Flower-Bird", one of the most favored by Chinese artists. The poetic composition, meticulous brush strokes and delicate color pallet were characteristic style of the work from Song and Ming dynasty. Many seals were found on these pieces as well that indicate several famous collectors and studios in the Ming and Qing dynasties.
