The top front is an ovular shape over a large intricately detailed clam shell. Additional wood supports back of table. The base is designed to resemble the fluted, ridged edges of a shell supporting an elongated, narrow top. See less

Also (we expect at the same time) the flat plinth base was raised atop of another flat support which sits against the floor but is recessed to create the illusion of it not being so cumbersome at the base. Also makes it very easy not to walk into the base or damage it/easy to clean under, too this way. Very good vintage condition. Painted wood with a matte lacquer over it to protect the finish. It,too, in good condition less
